House Forms
Remember those aptitude tests where you had to predict what a three-dimensional form would look like if it was unfolded, or predict what a flat shape would look like if it was folded up? That is my brain's happy place, in a nutshell. While the House Forms originally began as an offshoot of the Land and the Body series, they've quickly become a way to express the joy of imagining, designing and folding three dimensional forms. Fun with cold connections, such as wire ties, handmade staples and tab-construction, is also a big part of them, and using enamels to "glue" everything together checks off another of my enjoyment boxes! Finally, there's room in these little pieces to talk about ideas of home, and for the wearers and viewers to layer on their perspective as well.
