Three-Week Online Workshop; October 12, 19 & 26 2023 Pocosin Arts School of Fine Craft I am excited to again be teaching Tab Construction, one of my signature techniques, online this Fall for Pocosin Arts School of Fine Craft in Columbia, NC. Tab construction involves various non-soldering methods for creating three-dimensional objects from flat or formed sheet metal, in the same way that vintage tin toys are constructed. Folded tabs, buckles, staples and pierced folds provide for sturdy connections that are bursting with design potential. Tab-constructed objects can be enameled, patinated, worn as jewelry, or designed as sculpture or wall art. Students will participate in three virtual demonstration and discussion sessions, with handouts and sample patterns provided. October 12, 19 & 26, 2023; Time TBA |
