I learned the hard way that when I try to make what I think other people will like, my work is less successful than when I follow my own instincts and passions. These days, I make what brings me joy.
Wishbone Studio is my way to share that joy with people in search of finely-crafted art objects that are unique, inventive, fun and maybe a little strange! The comment I like to hear most about my work is, "I've never seen anything like this..." My goal is to create work that pushes the envelope a little bit but is still easy to live with, whether it lives on the body or on a wall or shelf. Jewelry will always be my go-to creation and my favorite thing with which to experiment, but it is my plan that Wishbone Studio will also eventually offer handmade books, small sculptures and art objects, wall art, art toys and other decorative items. I have a very strong recycling and repurposing ethic. Combined with a profound love of found materials, this will inform many of the creations that I offer through Wishbone Studio. The fact that I have about thirty years worth of those found materials and other art supplies languishing in my studios also kicks my butt to use what I've got!! Some folks might be dubious about purchasing art made from recycled materials, but I am confident that my twenty-five-plus years of experience as a maker enable me to combine traditional and non-traditional materials into finely-crafted objects of beauty, fun and joy. SELLING FROM THIS SITE is not currently operational, but please visit my Events page for a list of venues where you can find my work this year! |
